A Chamber membership provides you instant access to a network of area businesses and organizations. While networking events are one thing we do, our commitment to help you make business connections goes much deeper than monthly get-togethers to exchange business cards. We want to help you make better connections…high quality contacts. Through events, programs, and services as diverse as our member’s needs, we are helping our members build beneficial business relationships. Past training has included email marketing and social media seminars.

Business After Hours

 Business After Hours is one of our largest networking events. Members make new connections with potential clients and colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere accompanied by refreshments. After hours is always hosted by a chamber member and all members a welcome to host the event. We suggest requesting a spot on the calendar well in advance. There are limited opportunities each year.

Marketing

 We offer each member the opportunity to submit news and information into our weekly newsletter. Our newsletter reaches a much larger audience than just our membership. It is a great way to get quick exposure in the community for your business or event.

Promotion

 Advertising opportunities exist throughout the year. These include sponsorships of the annual meeting, golf tournament, and farmer’s market. Members receive a cling-on window sticker each year to show your customers and clients that you are a member.

Referrals

 Calls to the office for business information are referred to member businesses. Membership brings a note of credibility and distinction to a business.

Website Directory

 All members are listed in our online business directory. Our website is one of the first results when searching for Canton, MS. Often our business listings are the first results when searching for a business name. Our directory is a wonderful resource to both our members and the community.

Chamber Master

Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting is one of the most important events of the year. It allows the membership a time to come together to celebrate the year’s progress and highlight those members who have gone above and beyond. Annual awards include the Community Service Award, the Merchant of the Year Award, and the Ambassador of the Year Award. We also honor our out-going president and retiring board members.

Ribbon Cuttings/Grand Openings

A Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening Ceremony is an important part of your overall marketing and advertising plan and is a great way to kick-off a grand opening of a business. It offers an opportunity to meet key leaders in the community and get acquainted with your neighbors and chamber members. We would enjoy assisting you in planning a successful event for your business.

The Chamber Staff will help make things go as smoothly as possible by:

  • Notifying the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Ambassadors, City Dignitaries and Chamber members encouraging them to attend your event.
  • Putting you in touch with other chamber businesses that can provide catering, deli and beverage services, publicity, and even invitations.
  • Bringing the giant scissors.
  • Providing the ribbon and bow.
  • Providing a professional photographer.
  • Providing the media with a media advisory before the event and a press release after.
  • Providing a framed photo of the event.

Use of the Chamber Facility

Our facility is available to any chamber member by appointment. We can accommodate up to 20 with seating. Our facility includes a large screen TV for presentations made via connection to a laptop.

Membership Mailing List

Members have access to the full business membership mailing list. We can provide via database or assist with mail merge for printing directly on envelopes and labels.

Ambassador Program:

Ambassadors are highly visible, volunteers who serve as the Chamber’s primary liaison to new Chamber members. Considered the goodwill arm of the Chamber, the Ambassador committee plays an essential role in member recruitment, communication and retention, and each Ambassador is charged with conveying member needs, questions and concerns to Chamber staff, keeping our Chamber in line with our members’ desires.

Standing Committees

Members are welcomed to serve on one of our many standing committees. These include the Main Street four-points: Organization, Promotion, Economic Restructuring, and Design. Other subcommittees include Merchants, Canton Recycles, Education, Annual Meeting, Golf Tournament, Women’s Event, and Farmer’s Market. There is a place for everyone who is ready and willing to serve.
